On the Way to Oneself: Dramatic Miniatures by V. Kazakov
Апстракт
Beginning with an attempt to determine the place of V.V. Kazakov's "language" theater in Russian and in the world context, the article using the example of the dramatic cycle "Gate", illuminates the problem of loss and the search for identity as a pivotal one for Kazakov's absurdist plays. Consideration of this problem through the prism of several topics that are essential for the poetics of the author as a whole: duality, reflection, disappearance, substitution, name, identification, leads to an analysis of the subjects of time and death, closely associated with the problem of identity, and partly reflected in the opposition of the (decaying) body and (eternal) soul. Overcoming absurd existence, that is, overcoming the problem of identity, is seen in the idea of becoming, which implies constant metamorphosis in the metanoia: the loss of oneself for the sake of meeting oneself.
