Неки стереотипи о Балкану у краткој прози модерних мађарских писаца (Деже Костолањи и Ендре Кукорели)

Abstract

Културни, национални и политички стереотипи, нарочито они негативни, са лакоћом се уграђују у преовлађујући дискурс, а веома тешко се из њега отклањају, посебно ако је реч о суседним културама, о "нарцизму малих разлика". Нарочито су, у том смислу, честа мета негативне критике балканске културе: мађарски поглед на српску културу често је био негативан, а тога нажалост, нису лишени ни текстови најбољих мађарских писаца. Овај чланак настоји да, на примеру два текста двају мађарских аутора из различитих епоха - Дежеа Костолањија и Ендреа Кукорелија - покаже како чак ни ови (у књижевном смислу изванредни текстови) нису имуни на преовлађујући (негативни) културолошки дискурс о Балкану.

The paper deals with the permanent and stubborn survival of some typically negative stereotype-filled narratives about the Balkans and it's civilization values focusing on three prose texts written by modern Hungarian writers. The first two texts mentioned in this paper were written by the illustrious modern classic Dezso Kosztolanyi: one of them describes the writer's one-day visit to Belgrade in 1909 while the other one deals with his short trip to Cetinje in 1935. On the other hand, the very short article-type text by the contemporary writer Endre Kukorelly was inspired by a picture from the Bosnian war-field, released by the Hungarian media in 1993. All three texts seem to be proving the fact that even the best Hungarian writers were not able to maintain a relatively neutral observing position in the evaluation of their neighboring countries. These texts also reinforce the wide-spread belief that western stereotypes about the Balkans have had a significant influence in the region of Central Europe (the region closest to the Balkans itself) as well as the fact that the main ideas of these stereotypes is very hard to change indeed.
