Quelques aspects de l'indéfinitude en français et en serbe
Some aspects of indefiniteness in French and Serbian
Апстракт
Cet article a pour but d'examiner les emplois spécifiques et non spécifiques des expressions jedan et neki en serbe par comparaison aux mêmes types d'emplois de l'article indéfini en français. Nous constatons qu'en plus du trait 'référent inconnu de l'interlocuteur', que partagent les deux indéfinis serbes avec l'article indéfini français, le lexème neki est marqué, à la différence de jedan et de l'article indéfini, par le trait 'référent inconnu du locuteur'.
The aim of this paper is to examine the so called specific and non specific interpretations of the expressions jedan and neki in Serbian by comparison to the same types of uses of the French indefinite article. We note that in addition to the feature 'referent unknown to the interlocutor', shared by both Serbian and French markers of indefiniteness, the lexeme neki is marked, unlike jedan and the indefinite article in French, by the feature 'referent unknown to the speaker'. In other words, jedan is neutral with respect to the parameter referent known/unknown to the speaker as it can replace neki in certain specific contexts. Moreover, in the contexts which favor a non specific interpretation neki is preferred to jedan like an equivalent of the French indefinite article, which indirectly reflects the preference of jedan for the so called specific readings.
